I should title this brief post--"post from the edge". I have been working on deadline for a book and a few projects. A book about numeracy sort of fell into my lap as I continued to look at the data underneath the sparkly headlines here in this blog and over at Data&Donuts as well.
I'll share dementia data stories here as soon as the graphics are approved so stay-tuned. In the meanwhile, thanks for connecting and sharing your stories.
Think about it. Mass marketing requires average ideas because they are going out to the masses. Perhaps the people that will truly make a difference are on the fringes. If you want to make a difference spread ideas between the siloes. Maybe while reasearch & development continues to try failed moieties again and again we can connect with each other. Spread ideas that can connect and mobilize. If you have been reading the posts for any amount of time you know about social determinants of health. I recommend you read this article by the Kaiser Family Foundation. Beyond Health Care: The Role of Social Determinants in Promoting Health and Health Equity.
I think it is work connecting over. Lets lead from the edges. Average thinking isn't going to help us with prevention or meaningful research programs. Share. Connect. Lead.
