Beyond Betas' and Taus': Has the fat lady sung?

You can't miss the headlines. Every day there is new "research" to point to the causative mechanism for Alzheimer's Disease. Since the re-classification of AD from a psychiatric disorder to a somatic entity industry has been frantically searching for the next blockbuster drug. 

If the truth identifies AD as a diffuse clinical syndrome we will finally start to address prevention and lifelong determinants of health. More of these associations will certainly follow. Senescence and Alzheimer's Disease share a common pathway--we need to follow the clues.

Never underestimate the power of the right data! Headlines that report scientific research findings fail to mention that the studies were in mice, or small studies, or weak statistical correlations.
